McDonalds have increased the price of a cheeseburger 20% with other menu items increasing 2.5%, the third increase since 2007. Gasoline prices continue to soar with an increase of 6 yen per liter alone this August. The media is reporting increases in staples on a regular basis. Where prices are not increasing the size is just decreasing.

* Snow brand Cheese: 10%
* Kewpie Mayonnaise: 6 -12%
* Margarines: 18%
* Instant noodles: 10 % size decrease
