Special NOVA dues policy
The General Union Executive Committee has passed the following new dues policy for NOVA teachers and staff:
Joining as of 14 October 2007: 1,000 yen per month until you get a new job.
Joined prior to 14 October 2007: FREE until you get a new job.

Union Dues: 3000 yen per month
Union dues are relatively inexpensive; 3,000 yen per month. This equates to 1% of base salary for a member earning 300,000 yen per month. How does this compare to other unions? The national average has remained at 1.75% of base salary for the last 30 years (Source; Japan Institute of Labour).
However, if your average monthly income is under 250,000 yen (annual income under 3,000,000 yen), the union dues are:

effective from 20 April 2008
By paying a year's dues in advance, you allow us to reduce our administration expenses and put your dues to more effective use. Alternatively, dues may be paid by monthly recurring payments.
If you are joining with a specific problem, you are required to pay one year's union dues.
Note that we will not send a receipt; your stub from the bank is your receipt.

- at Japan Post Bank (post office) (0-330 yen service charge * the charge has changed from 1st Oct 2007) - recommended
- by bank transfer (Free to 420 yen service charge)
2. by monthly recurring payments (3,000 yen)
- by credit card through Paypal (150 yen service charge) - recommended
