Hotoku Gakuen Roundup

Alarmed by the school’s decision to cut a lot of the Eikaiwa classes, and fearing the school would use it as a pretext to cut hours and pay, the General Union held collective bargaining on 21 November.

The school, however, promised that there would be no pay cut commensurate with the loss in classes, and that they would find other non-Eikaiwa work for the teachers to do. The school also promised enrollment in Unemployment Insurance.
